”Anchorman” transports us back to a natural, senseless universe of humiliating beard growth and monstrous polyester garments – – a mythic land that even schoolchildren will distinguish as the 1970’s. Assuming it were not for that ignorant decade and its unruly mainstream society, there probably won’t be anything for motion pictures like this one to make harmless fun of.
